My first CC meet (August 28): buterflies….the only meet where I got to wear a black jersey, hanging out just me and my gatorade, walking in my first race, emily alberio’s mom on the hill (thank goodness for her), red flag……left? Right? Straight…….just follow the stream of people, not knowing where the race ended, Finally finishing!!!!!! go me, band-aids and neosporin, bagels
First Week of School (September 2-4): Sitting at two tables (all my current friends, me and Abs at another) wondering who the crazies were at the other table. Who knew we'd be so close
Menogyn (September 8-11): ....o boy Menogyn where do I start?, Well the bus ride down me and abby talked about Rounders, guys, and Teen People....There i was very sad not to have Abby in my group but I did have Em : )....out on the trail (if you don't know i'm not explaining) med kit, duffing, SPLASH, sinking in mud, swearing, more swearing, portaging, actually carrying a pack w/out a break for a whole portage!!!! ( Thank you Em I couldn't have done it w/out you). Meeting jenny's weird group on the trail. Which if I hadn't i don't know if i would have become friend w/you all. The paratrooper joke (Jenny, Opal, Em). The ride home where i met all you and was so incredibly happy to have friends. Me and ellen swearing (I'm eternally sorry about that ....not to mention embaressed). Sven & Ole's (pizza never tasted better)... Princeton (September 26): being at school by 6:00 AM on a Saturday, waiting for Bjorn, sitting with Ben, falling asleep and waking up at Hinckly, the town being “desserted” due to a storm, being in awe over the number of schools/runners, sticking w/people, walking the course, sprinting back to camp to finish getting ready, sprinting to the starting line, Ms. Moline trying to calm people down, seeing (?) Jesse and Jamie, kicking it in way to early, being really embarresed, trying to find Janzen, bananas and brownies
