It was an ending. Some months before, the profiteer, traveller and adventurer and hero -- at least to some -- Joe Grendel apparently died. Despite doubts, no search was made -- as was his last request. And the heroes mourned his loss.

Time, as is its want, passed bringing the new year and with it the Pantheon of Earth E. The evil counterpart's of the pantheon were stopped at great cost; people died, J Street was trashed and, in the aftermath, the heroes were exiled. One chapter closed.

And, inevitably, another opened; but between them? A moment of transition.
