Day 2 started off as a wet and windy afternoon with alot of people wrecked from the goings on of the night before. But still as weary soldiers we marched on.First to tee of on that glorious morning were Rob,Turlough and PJ. Rob proceeded to try and hit the guy in the Hymac twice but to no avail as this Hymac operator was well used to being clobbered. The next group was Dave,Ray and Conor.God only knows what went on that day..Maybe Dave was thinking of Brenda constantly but his game went to shite..Rumour has it he was shanking them all over the shop..But then isn't that Macker he shits out all the time.Never a man to handle the pressure.Last to go off on that day was John Carroll,Andy,Mick and Phil. This bunch were packed tightly together with only a few strokes seperating them. It was said that the group got even closer for a while but they parted again. The day belonged to one man again. As he had proved the day before Phil had put together a fantastic round.A 73 on this day was to make the gap even bigger. Phil had done what he had set out to do.After finishing in sixth position on the first year he played two fantastic rounds on both days of the 1999 Invitational and deservingly went home as the new champion and the first ever winner of the PJ Murphy Invitational green Jacket.
