Ebrecus vs. Soko
        The doors open on the eagerly awaited Ebrecus Koldar, the psionicist/gladiator who's magnificent powers have made him of the favorites to advance to the Champion's Bracket. His opponent is the capable, but less known Soko, a ninja warrior woman from the land of Tokiwa-Dai.
       Ebrecus steps into the srena, bow and arrow in hand and launches his knocked bolt at the ninja. In the ninja's hands is a magical cube which is instantly activated, forming a force wall around Soko, which the arrow harmlessly bounces off.
        The gladiator drops his bow and runs up just shy of Soko. He pulls his shortswords on the way.
       Soko moves forward as well, readying her swords. When she's sure Ebrecus is too close to use a missile weapon, she dismisses the cube.
       Ebrecus tries to Control Body on Soko. He succeeds in gaining control of the ninja's body. Ebrecus fights with mental power against the physical strength of Soko for control of the body, until the ninja finally wins out.
       The gladiator takes a defensive stance as the ninja punches at him. Twice Ebrecus is able to dodge the blows. Twice he counterstrikes with his shortsword and slashes the chest of his opponent (-11, -7).
       The gladiator strikes out with his short swords, striking first to the body of the ninja (-6) then a terrible blow to her hip (-13). She manages to return a punch (-9) but then stumble sbefore she can complete another swing, wrenched in pain.
       Seeing his chance to finish her - and her suffering from the freezing mental powers that Ebrecus has been inflicting on her since the beginning - Ebrecus strikes out once with his sword (-14) then in a final fury chops her right hand off, the shock of which causes her to fall unconscious.
