![]() The Games of Saberhaven Drago vs. Roulette
|
A classic combat sits before them. Durger versus Drow. The gery
dwarf is Drago, member of the Dark Ones, inder the tutelage of the cambion
Bellow. The dark elf is a member of the Powers of the Dark, a drow
contingency which broke away from Bellow's control and formed thier own
contengincy. Not only a race war, but a grudge match. Both competitors are strapped to the hilt, Drago in his plate mail and shield, ready to put his priestly powers of Laduguer to work, along with his slight of assassination. Roulette is loyal to the demon queen Lolth and is a mighty prietsess herself. Though Roulette is a more powerful priestess, the match is considered nearly even with Drago's assassin's abilities and his innate psionic talents. The announcements are made and Drago focuses on his mental energy as Roulette charges forward. After a bit, nothing still happened, the drow sparks her innate magic to dispel the enchantments most certainly on the duerger. Worried that her charge will end in a too soon confrontation, thedwarven priest of the god of craft, magic and protection summons a wall of stone between him and his opponent. The wall only causes Roulette to run further. Pulling two maces, she charges right up to the dwarf just as he pull shis own short sword. Roulette stmbles opn her first swing, pulling her left leg muscle. She hobbles out of the way in time to dodge the sword blow coming at her from Drago. As she recoves, the dwarf seems to focus his mentl energy again, though again to ne visible effect. The two engage in a trade of blows. Drago misses, but the drow lands the first blow with her mace. It seems that Drago seeks to use his mental powers as he stops swinging. Roulette gets an uncomfortable look but manages another strike with her mace. Visible continuing to get more uncomfortable, Roulette finds that her skin is heating up unnaturally. She strikes out twice, bashing both times into the dwarf as her skin begins to blister. Drago strikes back, but finds his sword pases right through the drow preistess, no doubt the protection of an Ironguard spell. Now frightened, that he won't be able to damage the drow, Drago focuses yet again on his mental energies. Roulette is unable to capitalize on the duerger's pause and misses her mace shots. Nothing happens and the process is repeated. Roulette misses two swings while the dwarf frantically tries to invoke some sort of mental energy. Exasperated, both turn to invoking the blessings of their gods. Drago tries first but Roulette seems to resist the spell. Meanwhile, she brings a wall of swirling blades into existance, which finish off the weakened duerger.
