The Games of Saberhaven
Prince Kroobor vs. Kalla

The audience peers on with great curiousity as the being heralded as a "half dragon" appears in the Arena. Claiming to be a Prince from the Far West, Kroobor arrived in Saberhaven with only one kobold servant, but a deadly fighting style. Said to be a preist of the strange god Azuth, Kroobor has exibited powers of both priest and mage.
Across the battle field stands the battle-worn Kalla, a barbarian woman of some renown, though not a fantstic record in the Games. Most feel thet Kroobor's spell abilities give him an edge, though Kalla would have words to say about that.
Kroobor enters, not with the his two two-headed flails that he normally carries, but empty-handed. Kalla enters holding only a rope, though one hand finds its way to her sword hilt as she advances.
The half-dragon calls down the wrath of Azuth, raining a storm of fire on Kalla who, to her credit, makes it through the massive storm alive.
As she closes in, she tosses the rope, which wraps itself around the half-dragon. Finding himself in an unusual predicament, Kroobor frets not, but focuses his own innate magics on Kalla, striking her first with a Lightning Bolt.
Hurt, but undaunted, Kalla is now confident in her win. She marches forth and strikes out twice with her two-handed sword, whittling away at the half-dragon.
The Prince summons mor eof his natual magics and conjures up seven magical missiles which strike the barbarian unerringly.
Angered, Kalla tries to strike harder with her sword to end the fight. She hits once, but on her second pass, she loses her footing and her boot comes off.
Kroobor takes his chance to create a Wall of Fire between them. Kalla manages to jump clear of the blazing wall but then has to run around the end of it to get back to her opponent.
Meanwhile, the half-dragon takes the time to activate his ioun stone wil a Firball spell stored on it. As she rounds the corner coming back tp him, she's greeted with a blazing ball of fire which nearly kills her.
Back upon him again, Kalla fights in her weakened state and can't hit the roped priest. Kroobor dodges, then smiles at the woman just before he lets loose a stream of cold from his mouth. If there's any doubt of his draco-heritage, its put to rest now when the cold breath weapon knocks the barbarian woman unconscious.
The crowd goes wild, never remembering a fight where the winner was bound the entire combat.
