![]() The Games of Saberhaven D.O.A. vs. Praha
|
Trickery and treachery are anticipated in this bout, as two devious competitors oppose one another in the arena in this first round of the tournament. Praha, at the north end, is a malicious knight, standing tall in gleaming plate armor and helm. In his right hand he holds a longsword, the feared unholy avenger of the anti-paladin. In his left hand is his diamond mace, known to be able to launch lightning bolts on command. At the south end of the arena, standing against this powerhouse, is the crafty D.O.A., an assassin for whom the phrase "crazy like a fox" seemed to have been coined. D.O.A. wears a somewhat intimidating suit of red dragon leather which he is said to have crafted himself. He holds a shortsword in each hand, and has been known to sever limbs with quick strokes of the narrow blades. As the doors open and the announcements begin, both competitors step into the ring. Praha looks about ready to charge forward, but stops when his opponent suddenly disappears from view. He stops and waits, swinging his longsword menacingly, apparently assuming the rogue has turned invisible. The audience, however, cheers as they see D.O.A. teleport into existence five feet behind Praha's back. The assassin steps up behind the confused knight without a sound. The crowd roars as D.O.A. sinks both shortswords through the joints in Praha's armor, deep into the man's torso, piercing heart and lung. The knight sinks to the earth, and D.O.A. takes a graceful bow.
