The Games of Saberhaven
Sir SapphireTears vs. Pal

The crowd goes wild at this display of good vs evil on display in front of them. On one side stands Sir SapphireTears, a sturdy man of noble bearing in sapphire full plate armor with wisps of silver hair visible beneath his helm. His longsword and shield stand idle, but ready. On the other side stands a twisted mockery of Sir SapphireTears. Pal is poised, slightly hunched, clutching a large silver two-handed sword, decked out in splint mail.
The signal to begin sounds, and the only thing that changes in the entire scene is the sudden disappearance of Pal.
Sir SapphireTears calmly casts Protection from Evil as he steps slightly forward and waits for Pal to show himself again. 2 Minutes after he disappeared, Pal reappears directly behind the sapphire knight as his silver two-handed sword swings down mightily to crush the armor of the knight. SapphireTears had tried to bring his sword around to block, but the attack slipped by his defenses.
Although Sir SapphireTears has been hit, he does not seem flustered at all. Pal presses his attack quickly, but cannot seem to penetrate the Paladin's defenses. With a small sigh, Sir SapphireTears brings his sword to bear against the Githyanki. It cleaves through his foe's splint mail and dives into the side of his enemy. Pal howls in rage and swings wildly at the calm paladin. The sword glances off Sapphire plate mail, but distracts Sir SapphireTears enough to cause his next attack to miss.
Sir SapphireTears, proving that Lawful Good does not mean predictable, slashes Pal heavily with his longsword, and then follows up quickly with a bash from his shield. Pal, used to these types of tricks, narrowly avoids denting his forehead on Sir SapphireTears' shield. Using his shield as a weapon, unfortunately left a spot open in the Paladin's defenses, and being one to take any advantage given, Pal crushes the open spot with his silver two-handed sword. Sir SapphireTears winces in pain as the unholy weapon pierces his body.
Desperate to take this villain down, Sir SapphireTears swings in anger. His attack misses Pal entirely. Pal on the other is unrelenting in his assault. His sword slips by the attempted block of Sir SapphireTears, and stings the Paladin mightily. Anger fueled by pain lets the sword of Sir SapphireTears bite into Pal. Pal's return swing is rebuffed by Sir SapphireTears' armor.
As Pal's sword bounces off of the Paladin's armor, Sir SapphireTears follows up with a mighty swing. The Knight's sword slices deep into his enemy. The pain of the wound angers Pal to a snarling rage. Pal cleaves his two-handed sword downward to finish Sir SapphireTears off, and he would have had the knight not parried the assault with his shield, negating all of Pal's intended damage.
Sir SapphireTears' attacks come like lightning. His longsword slices through Pal's defenses and deep into Pal's side. This throws the githyanki's attack off and the Paladin easily blocks the 2 handed sword with his shield. Again, the sapphire knight attacks. His sword cleaves into Pal. The anti-paladin weakens and fails to connect with his next blow even though the paladin's shield was out of place.
SapphireTears is on a roll. Again he connects on the battered githyanki. It looked as if the anti-paladin was trying to concentrate on something, but the knights sword prevented that from happening. Pal just stood there this round, trying to marshall his thoughts...it didn't work.
The githyanki marshals his thoughts again. His eyes squint and become slits as he calls upon some unseen force to aid him. Suddenly, his eyes pop open wide as nothing happens except for Sir Sapphire Tears' elbow to impact Pal high as the knight tries to push the anti-paladin over. The push strikes Pal hard, but Pal manages to keep his balance. Balance however does not protect the evil githyanki from the blade of the noble knight. Sir SapphireTears follows the push attempt with a mighty blow from his blade. Pal falls to the ground, unconscious.
