The Games of Saberhaven
Sade vs. Dipidoo

The final round of the group finds two fierce competitors vying for a spot in the Champions' Rounds. Captain Dipidoo, the pixie, represents his queen, Lorande of Kalbese, and has had great luck in the past. His recent victory over the psi-fighter halfling Tak'Nak'raq carried him over into today's fight.
Meanwhile, his opponent is the mage Sade, who is quickly gaining a reputation in the Arena. He's defeated numerous opponents, many times not expected to win, and done it with style. The crowd is really warming up to this guy and are excited to see how he'll fare against someone the caliber of Dipidoo.
The doors open and Sade walks out circled by images of himself. He charges the other end to engage the pixie.
Dipidoo enters in much the same way, but flying, surrounded by a gaggle of images.
Meanwhile, Sade appears invisibly 30 feet above Dipidoo, who is also invisible, just inside the door. The two see each other. Dipidoo starts to fire his bow, but Sade manages to finish a Wind Breath spell to blow the flying fellow back into the wall.
Somehow the pixie seems immune to the harsh wind, but realizes he's unable to fire his bow. He pulls his sword and with a thought, dispels the illusion of Sade, his mirror images and the invisibility on the mage.
Shocked, the crowd looks up to see what they thought was the action was all an illusion, perpetrated by both sides.
Both warriors pull out missiles and begin to throw, Sade pulling four stilettos, Dipidoo favoring smaller throwing stars.
Sade strikes all four times with wonderful strikes, but they bounce off the stoneskin of the pixie.
Dipidoo's first star nearly hits, but Sade grabs the star from the air and wings it back at the pixie, taking off another stoneskin shot.
The pixie throws again, his second shot pulling him off balance and flying wide. He stumbles to recover his balance.
Sade continues to throw his stilettos, but the pixie summons a strong wind, blowing the missiles from the air. He closes into melee, drawing his dagger sized sword.
Sade hits thrice times, but each time as if hitting stone.
The pixie reaches out with his hand to slap Sade, and probably to deliver a magical touch effect, but he misses completely and barely manages to stay upright.
The pixie grumbles and goes for his tiny swords. Not worried about the spells any more, Sade focuses on striking the pixie. He hit three times, and breaks through the stoneskin! The fire surrounding the pixie burns into Sade.
The pixie returns with his own attacks but only hit the stoneskin of the mage. The fire aura surrounds the pixie, combining with his own fireshield to burn him even more.
Now burning from his own fire and set ablaze by Sade's fireshield, the pixie is concerned. He attacks furiously, each of his six attacks hitting a stoneskin and each one causing his blaze to burn hotter and higher.
Sade leans away from the inferno of a pixie, but sees his chance to get in, striking once, then again, the second blow right through Dipidoo's chest.
The pixie falls unconscious with the winded warrior-mage declared the winner.
