The Games of Saberhaven
Saggratoph vs. Sade

Two of the newer powerhouses clash in this third round fight. Saggratoph is a sturdy dwarf, a rough fighter who takes no prisoners. Sade combines his fighting power with sorcery, a deadly combination.
Saggratoph enters the Arena, black cloak flowing behind him, his frostbrand glowing white cold with magic.
On the other end, the fighter-mage Sade flies into the Arena, four tentacles sprouted form his side, a sheet of flame surrounding him. He rises to 30 feet off the ground and advances slowly towards his opponent. Coming to a stop, Sade summons a small flaming, meteoric ball to his right hand, and readies to throw it. His other hand rises to perform arcane movements...spellcasting.
The dwarf rolls to the side of the oncoming minute meteor. He continues his charge, then activates his wings of flying as he jumps out of the way of another oncoming missile, the second fired from Sade's spell, an acid arrow.
The dwarf flies straight at the tentacled, glowing mage and his seven mirror images. His first strike goes right into the mage's chest, and through him with no effect. A bit puzzled, Saggratoph wonders why the mirror image didn't dispel as they normally do when he hits one. He strikes out again, this time dispelling an image.
The dwarf realizes the first one he hit wasn't a mirror image, but itself an illusion of the mage, who is probably now hiding invisible somewhere in the Arena.
Suddenly from somewhere behind him, another small meteor and seven magic missiles fly towards him. The dwarf dodges the meteor but cannot get out of the way of the maically guides missiles.
The dwarf sighs at annoyance towards mages who hide behind invisibillity and such, then turns and switches to his throwing hammer and looks for the slightest movement in the Arena with his hammer ready to throw.
All of a sudden the air shimmers as Sade briefly appears then disappears. Saggratoph is struck by a wave of incredibly cold air which sucks the heat from his body. The sturdy dwarf resists some of the magic but not all.
At the sight of the shimmer, Saggratoph throws his hammer at the mage just after the cone of cold is released. The hammer hums toward the invisible mage, but suddenly stop sin mid-aid, as if it had been caught.
The dwarf catches another glimmer of the mage as a small rock is hurled at him and strikes him in the neck.
Always watching closely for his next opportunity to get a shot off, Saggratoph laughs slightly at the pitiful attempt to harm him with the rock, yet seems impressed by the accuracy at which it was thrown. He tries to take his mind off the cold by concentrating on winning the match.
The dwarf's hammer hovers for a bit then streaks back at the dwarf, striking him in a humiliating "clank" on his armor.
One pissed off dwarf now stands with a frown from being hit with his own hammer. he pulls his sunblade, the heat from the sword radiating greatly and warning the previously cold area.
As Saggratoph listens he hears the flapping of wings getting closer and feels the movement of air as something moves quickly his way. All of the sudden Sade appears in front of him. The mage has two tentacles growing from his side and wings sprouting from his shoulders. Multiple blurry images swirl round and round and every image of Sade is shrouded in green flames. Four staves seem to be tied to Sade's back.
Holding four rapiers with the tentacles, Sade quickly moves to attack.
"I got bored of casting spells," Sade says with a smile. "I want to inflict some pain now."
As Sade speaks, Saggratoph can hear Sade's four rapiers start to hum.
The dwarf lets out a ferocious battle cry and chops into the mage, or at least where he estoimates the mage to be. His first shot does little save take out one of the seven blurry images around Sade.
Saggratoph returns with his own blows. As the dwarf loses more and more strength, he manages two sturdy shots. But alas, it is too little too late for the dwarf as he strikes the mage, and for the last time. Sade succeeds with a third blow, knocking the dwarf unconscious and out of the tournament.
