The Games of Saberhaven
Tak'Nak'Raq vs. Dipidoo
Running into the arena at speed, Tak'Nak'Raq stopped for a moment, inclining his head towards his opponent. Scanning the area - as if looking for something.
Apparently seeing it, he moves up and throws a handful of sparkling dust into the air, from which emerges another form of Captain Dipidoo, this one holding his pixie bow ready, as the images fade away.
The faerie fires his tiny bow, and the arrow zooms away at surprising speed. The small missile flies just past the displaced Tak'.
Concentrating his mind powers, Tak' reaches out and batters the small pixie with his considerable psionic strength, hoping to knock the small combtantant out of the air.
The pixie pauses in mid-fly, seems to cramp up, making a squinting face as if he had a sudden headache, then falls to the ground, stunned.
Quickly springing the few steps to the fallen Pixie, Tak' strikes quickly with his sword and dagger, hitting the stunned Pixie several times before he can recover.
The halfling's sword strikes the faerie in the chest and then directly through the throat. The dagger find its way home twice as well. Strike as he may, every shot seems to be like hitting stone.
Not taking any more chances, Tak' strikes the Pixie again - hoping to end this bout before Dipidoo can recover and fly to safety.
The pixie reaches up and slaps the halfling on the leg, sending a shiver of magic into the minute warrior, but the mental steadfastness of the halfing allows him to resist.
Growing impatient at the lack of success of his melee attacks, Tak' steps up a notch, furiously hammers away at the Pixie, hoping to stop him from casting any more spells - as well as ending the round as quickly as possible.
Dipidoo rises and draws his pixie sword. He stabs the halfling with a teriffic blow.
Tak' comes bak with his own one-two combination of sword dagger, the first hitting yet another stoneskin, but the dagger finally drawing blood.
The two continue to trade blows, Tak landing one more dagger, while the quite proficient pixie lands three more shots with his sword.
Woozy on his feet already - from loss of blood, Tak' lets his battle instincts and adrenaline guide his sword. His sword a blur, Tak' strikes out again, combining his dagger and sword in a deadly pattern. He strikes twice, but cannot hold out as the pixie blade slices into him yet again.
Captain Dipidoo check on the unconscious Tak' as the healing priests come running. Seeing his opponent will recover, he flies into the air and takes a bow to the cheering crowd, then turns invisible in a surprising end.
