| I'm getting tired of music getting the blame for what people do. In the 1980's, bands like Judas Priest, KISS, AC/DC, and Ozzy Osborne were "evil" they were currupting the youth of the day. Well, I listened to all of those bands, and I have yet to kill anyone, or myself. Why? because my parents taught me respect, respect for others, and myself. Now, I listen to Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, White Zombie, Metallica, etc., and I still don't have the desire to kill anyone, or myself. So, if I may quote KMFDM, "Let's stop looking for someone to blame, and start blaming ourselves". Don't blame the music, its just art, and art isn't always a literal expression. Do you think Britney Spears wants to you to smack her around when she says, "Hit me baby one more time"? I don't think so. |
