BRIEF HISTORY

Sam discovered his powers after his father's death. He, who was hoping to go to the university, had to start working on a mine of coal to help his family, but the very first day, the mine crashed over him, and his power took over. Sam saw in awe hoe his legs exploded in a bright light and got thrown out of the mine, without suffering any damage until he lighted off.

He got hired by the Hellfire Club, for Danielle Moonstar

Sam found a lot of troubles using his power, for although he could light them all right most times, he wasn't able to direct himself, and his being invulnerable while lighted made him a danger for the others. He was as well pretty shy at first, and his being atrracted by Cable, after Xavier's dissapearing and Magneto joining the Hellfire Club. In fact, Sam was Cable's main target, for he was an External, a powerful race of immortal mutants, what he discovered after his death.

Sam has beem since them a sort of unofficial leader of X Force, having a relationship with Boomer (Meltdown) since the beginnings of X Force. It's a remarkable thing that he has 8 brothers and sisters, who can be mutants as well. At least, his sister Paige has powers and is now in Generation X. Lately, he has left X Force to join the X Men.

Sam's power is a blast field that render him virtually invulnerable to almost any attacks,immortallity,and the ability to launch himself at very high speed.
