Premise
The 12 colonies of humans had been at war with the Cylons for many years. At last, the Cylons decided to call a truce. All 12 of the humans' Battlestar class cruisers attended the signing of the piece treaty. It was a trap. The Cylons struck, and destroyed 11 of the 12 Battlestars. The one surviving ship was the Battlestar Galactica. It was decided that the remaining humans should get together in whatever ships were left and head for the legendary thirteenth colony: Earth. The Battlestar Galactica is the only protection this ragtag fleet has against the continuing cylon threat. The Cylons are guided by a human traitor, Baltar, who betrayed the humans in the first place for his own personal gain.
