But what number? The number of the beast, 666? 42? No! The Number is 23. Some of you already know this number. Most of you will not understand the signifigance of this, The Number. Here I will document the occurance of The Number in my life. The easy ones:
I'll not go into detail as to my history with The Number. They wouldn't like that and I really don't wanna piss them off. But, from here on out I'll update this page whenever The Number crosses my path. It's too late for them to stop me and now I'm far too visible to get rid of. November 18, 1996
November 20-29, 1996 I work on PCs. Most of the serial numbers on the IBMs I've worked on lately have started with 23. One of the power stations I went to the other day had a 23MPH speed limit. My visitor pass for that same power station was V-23. This power plant is 23 miles from my office. Whilst getting my mail (23 mail messages) my mail reader crashed. I just found out that the average person spends 30 years of their life asleep. Seven years of that is spent dreaming. That leaves 23 years of sleeping that is not spent dreaming. December 5, 1996 I got a call about a laptop that was having mouse problems. After examining the problem I found that the Windows Desktop granularity setting has been set at 23. March 8, 1997 From the last date until now so many cases of The Number has happened in my life that they've all blured together... December 9, 1997 Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this page. A few days ago I was helping out a friend by fixing up her computer for her. She went with me to get the parts but she had to pick up her mail first. She received a packet of free recipes, 23 of them. We had to go down town to get a hard drive cable. They gave me the wrong cable. When I went back, the meter had 23 minutes left on it. Later that same evening I took my girlfriend to the store. When she came out with the groceries she had buggy number 23. November 25, 1998 Wow... it's been almost a year since I updated this page... Lots
of 23s have come and gone in the last year but I just cannot remember any
of 'em at this time. Maybe I should update this page a little more
often. :)
