Silver's Alter

Poems of Love and Victory

Jill

"Her name was Jill,"
he said with a chill,
"who stole my heart from me;
I loved her, you see,
and between you and me,
in love I will ever be

I gave her a rose
to show how my love grows
and we walked in the sand by the sea.
But then one day
she just went away,
and she left just a mem'ry with me"

I looked at the old man
with his head in his hands,
and I realized that that man was me.
