Poems of Love and Victory

Dwarven Bard

I am a Dwarven Bard -- by hook or by crook-- by trade, of this I'm proud
It seems like an age since last I sang for you last
It warms my heart to perform for this crowd, and I shall sing it loud
so light your pipe, grabe your drink, and by the fireplace take a seat

My words ring forth to tell the tale of my abandoned quest
I've been many places and discovered wondrous things--you're in for a treat

Although few knew what I was up to - my quest was assigned by me
to see what there is to see, know what there is to know, and realize my full potential
Truth comes to all, even to stubborn and bullheadded me- I've opened my eyes to
see

It pains me to say, but I must move forth and take the new trail
Get my feet wet- take the next step- for I can do no more where I stand
There is more to see and know than is inside my personal jail
My wander lust has exceeded my skills, cunning, and talents

Refusing to go back, I must go forward and give myself a new ceiling
If you wish for help just ask, for I too swing on Life's Balance
As I abandon this quest and portion of my past--pity me not
For the realization of my goal is not abandoned; rather, the possibilities are expanded

My tale is told - my song is sung - and my tongue is tied in a knot.
