After trapping the three toads, the party started to move down the halls again. They reached a huge round room with a strange moving lump in it. And it was because of this lump that they began going

Chapter 29 - Round and Round, Up and Away.

BILADOC
I put away my daggers and take out the knife I took from the orc room, throwing it at the brown lump, just to see what happens. At the same time, I say to the others:
"Can anyone light a torch? If you have anything that burns, like oil or the like, maybe it's a good idea to use it at this moving blob. Or just push it into that hole, using a sword or something."
I take care not to let it come close, moving around the hole to keep it between me and the blob. I take out one short sword, in case it is slow enough to be swept into the hole, but won't approach it for now.

DM
The knife begins to smoke and is soon gone. The blob begins to move towards you faster. It is quite fluid in its motion.

MAXIMILLION
Max looks with interest at the brown blob.
"I suggest that we keep the pit between us and the brown blob. Then the blob may just go into the pit as it tries to get to us. My master told me something about creatures such as these. Never seen one in person. I think it's called a brown pudding."

BILADOC
As Max speaks, my eyes get bigger and my mouth opens:
"Humm... Brown pudding... Chocolate is brown..."
I consider taking a step towards it, but as I see it sliding in our direction, I pull myself together and follow Max's advice, keeping the hole between us.

TIMOR
Timor looks around and the moving ooze catches his eye. When Max refers to it as 'a creature' Timor is both perplexed and fascinated at the same time... how can it be a creature, and at the same time, such an unusual thing is most definitely fascinating."
After Biladoc has made comments about burning or pushing it, Timor looks to the halfling:
"It is a living being who has of yet done no harm to you... it has the right to continue about its business."
Regardless of how much respect Timor has for any life form, he does his best to keep the hole between himself and the blob - after all, no need to give the blob reason to do something which it will regret.
He assumes that we plan on heading out of this room through the other exit... if that is where we are going, than that is where Timor will go. On the way over though, the priest takes a quick peek into the hole to see what (if anything given possible darkness) he can see.

ALOF
When I see what happens to the knife (and realize there is nothing I can do to protect myself or hurt the creature) I quickly pick up pace and head towards the exit.

LEGILDUR
Legildur keeps observing the 'pudding' as it moves towards the party.
"Regardless of what you may think Timor, this thing appears mindless (I hope) and looks to have us for a meal. While I was prepared to save the toads, I do not feel so compelled in this case. If it gets to close, I will destroy it!"
Legildur appears a little unsure about attacking the beast as he has not seen such a thing before.
Legildur nods at Max's idea, "Aye Max, let us skirt around this thing (and the hole) and cross this place." He then indicates to the others to begin crossing the room quickly to the west exit and to avoid the hole and the pudding.

DM
In doing so the pudding picks up the pace and begins a chase around the round room. :-)

TIMOR
Timor looks to the elf with curiosity. A creature that is both alive and mindless at the same time? He is not sure what think of that... it would be an ethical debate for the temple at another time... as to what the exact definition of life is... up until now he had thought of it as anything alive... but, he can see Legildur's point, that since it is (and always will be) mindless that perhaps it doesn't classify entirely as such.
(case in point: we have killed fungi when it becomes hostile to our well being - those poisonous ones that release poisonous spores or whatever... - and yes, I am making something feasible up just to agree with it. ;)
Timor looks at Legildur and blinks. The elf can become quite passionate... speaking with exclamation points and all... :)
-Yes... onward to the westward exit of the room, while avoiding both the moving pudding and the hole.

BILADOC
Seeing the pudding increasing speed, I do the same, saying at the same time:
"Wow, I had a nightmare similar to this some time ago... only it was a whole meal chasing me, not just the dessert. Max, you seem to know something about these blobs. How can we stop it? Blades are useless, judging from what it did to the knife."
I continue to move and turn to Timor:
"So, it has a right to go about its business, huh? Well, I think its business is turning us into smoke."
I think for a while, trying to imagine a way to escape the blob. Suddenly, I smile and say to Saggar:
"Hey, remember that marble you found? If it is another crystal bubble, we can trap the blob and then roll it down the toilet back there. Do you want to try it?"

MAXIMILLION
"The way to stop was to allow it to go into the hole. Maybe this will teach you patience."

VORIAX
Voriax, not caring to move around the circle and fall in, blasts a magic missile at the pudding ooze.
"Lets test how it likes this."

TIMOR
After seeing what the strange brown blob did to Biladoc's dagger, Timor gets an idea... As he continues moving around the hole to keep himself separated from the ooze, he pulls out half a dozen coins. He then uses these six coins to make a trail to the very tip-edge of the hole - he is hoping, if this thing liked to eat metal, it may go after the coins if it can taste/smell/feel them...then, after following the trail, it would be at the edge... and maybe, being on the edge it may fall over or one of the other geniuses in the group can figure a way to push it in..(hopefully, no one is in the hole - we already looked down there didn't we?)
{If Voriax's missile seems to cause the thing some pain or at least cause it to shake a little at the absorption of the magic energy - perhaps if the thing won't fall in when on the edge of the hole, Voriax (or someone) could use another magic missile to give it that final push into the hole) Besides, if this works, it will save the more important equipment (gold won't help much down here, but some oil will have better uses later on) (ooc: I've never done that before... but I thought it worth a shot. ;)

DM
Voriax mystic missile slams into the jelly. It burns and smokes a little. it pauses for a few brief seconds as everyone makes it to the west side. Then it begins it's pursuit again. It seems to ignore the gold that Timor put in its way. It does not seem quick enough to catch the group as long as they keep moving.

LEGILDUR
Then keep moving we shall! (unless the mages decide to finish the creature).
"Keep moving you two." says Legildur sharply to the scouts as the party reaches the other side of the room. "Come on, let's get out of hear!" he says to the remainder of the party.
Did anyone see in the hole as to what was there?

VORIAX
"Better to kill it now then have it follow us more. Get a torch ready someone!"
Voriax fires a flaming sphere at the blob, hoping to knock it into the hole Timor seems obsessed with. :-)

SAGGAR
Saggar looks up "I have two flasks of oil milord." Saggar looks at Biladoc and says:
"I would hate wasting such a thing on a blob as that when I have oil milord, besides we might want to go down that toilet soon, although this pit may lead to the level below as well" . Pulls flask of oil and puts a bit of cloth in it. "Light?"

DM
Mareena nods as she moves quickly.
"It was very dark. I did not see anything else."
The hallway west goes forty feet where is splits into a T intersection going north and south. Mareena and the rest of the group begin heading west with the slow moving Jelly giving chase. Mareena stops after twenty feet and points towards the North wall.
"Hey do you see those rungs? I wonder what they are for?" Glancing at it you do indeed see metal rungs that lead up towards the ceiling. They are quite rusty but appear to be sturdy.

LEGILDUR
"Maybe we will have to come back later if we have no success elsewhere. Another time perhaps, but well spotted nonetheless." says the Elven warrior as he watches the pudding close the distance between itself and the rear of the party.
"Alof. Biladoc. Take the north turn of the corridor up ahead. Mareena, move to the intersection and cover the south turn until we are clear of the intersection.
Should we lay a fire trap for the pudding with your oil here Saggar?" (by pouring it as a pool on the ground with a starter trail and lighting it as the pudding enters the pool before we move on)

DM
Mareena nods and moves to the intersection facing south. She can see clearly that the hallway goes thirty feet south where it splits west and East into yet another T intersection.

SAGGAR
"I suggest we ignite it with the oil and let it burn milord"

BILADOC
I take out a couple of daggers again and proceed to the intersection. As I pass the rungs, I say to Legildur:
"These rungs might be a way out. I believe that pudding won't be able to follow us up there."
I quickly approach the intersection and look to the north hall.

DM
Looking north you observe the following: Hallway goes twenty feet and a hall branches off to the west. The hallway goes fifty feet further north after that and opens into a small room (Should be stairs that are on your map, you know the blocked ones.

SILVAN
Silvan, following at the rear, stops just short of the intersection, bow drawn, arrow nocked and ready. He will wait, staring at the amphorus creature, until all are safely away before continuing. Glancing quickly at Legildur, he says:
"Warn me before you light the oil, please!"
Silvan will also cry a warning if the pudding comes too close for the trap to be set.
OOC:
Didn't I see this in a movie? "It creeps, it leaps, it slides, it glides across the floor, . . . be careful of the blob!"

DM
The sphere causes the thing to burn some more and it backs up as quickly as it can. It avoids the hole like the plague...Finally the sphere dissipates but the thing looks much much smaller.

SAGGAR
Seeing the flaming sphere fired, Saggar throws the oil at the jelly to ignite it with the sphere.

TIMOR
While the others are busy with the 'blob', Timor finds himself fascinated with the rungs. With his brown eyes, he follows the metallic circles upwards... They disappear off into the darkness, much further up than this priest can see with human eyes.. 'One of these days, I'm going to have to look into forgotten powers of Elanna that may allow me to see better in the dark..' - As he looks upwards, he can't help but wonder - and in a low mumble, audible to anyone near by (though he isn't speaking to anyone):
"If we're underground somewhere, then up _would_ be the way out..."

LEGILDUR
Seeing first the fire mage launch another assault on the blob and then the dwarf lobbing his oily cocktail, Legildur calls to Voriax.
"If you should destroy the creature, send the sphere up to follow the rungs."

DM
The oil lands on it and within minutes the thing is gone.

VORIAX
OOC:
Yes! I got to toast something!!
BIC:
Voriax dusts himself off and looks slightly smug.
"Ahhh. Nothing like a good fire to warm things up. Where to now?" Voriax appears re-energized.

TIMOR
Seeing the blob being destroyed, Timor slowly walks back over away from the wall/rungs he has been admiring al this time.
"I don't suppose anyone (particularly mages) has the ability to create light such as the holy light of Elanna? (does anyone have a freakin' light spell?) If that is the case, we could en-light an item rock/stone/whatever) and toss it into the darkness of the pit - thereby (for lack of better words) allow us to shed some light on the subject..."
A similar technique could also be used on a thrown stone to investigate how high these rungs go upward....but one mater at a time.
Oh yeah - Timor picks up the ineffective trail of coins he left earlier (that is of course assuming none of you with quick hands got it first.. ;)
(sorry if I seem stuck on the pit and rungs when you all are obviously trying to investigate further down the various hallways.. I'm just working off that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" theory; since the jelly was avoiding it, it _may_ (or may not) be something we could find helpful (but at the same time, we may also want to avoid it - but Timor thinks it deserves some looking into). And the rungs well, if we are underground (we're either underground, in a mountainous structure, or in some screwed up other possibility (such as an alternate dimension or magical realm)) - so, going on the theory of being underground, up would be the way out... and even if they are in a mountain, up would eventually lead out of the mountain. -if you want to move on though, just grab Timor and move him... he doesn't weigh much and probably won't fight back (and if he does, I'm sure anyone of you could easily take him on... ;)

SAGGAR
"We could have the flaming sphere go down to show us what is there"

TIMOR
OOC:
"Should the hole be inhabited, I don't think the occupants would enjoy the bbq..." ;)

DM
The flaming sphere is gone now.

BILADOC
I'll take a quick look down the west bound hall, to see if it connects with the hall that lead to the blocked stairs we found earlier (where the left most ? is in my map). After that I'll return and join the others in the small room just discovered to the north.

LEGILDUR
Legildur notes that the blob, while willing to chase ten people, avoided the hole in the room at all costs - even to its death. "Good work." he congratulates Voriax and Saggar.
Legildur listens to Biladoc's comments on the rungs and then overhears Timor's quiet mumblings along a similar line (these elven ears Kermie - they hear everything :-).
"It could possibly be a way out. Now with the blob gone we can perhaps examine it a little more thoroughly." Legildur waits for Biladoc to return before sending one of the scouts up the rungs for look.
"Don't forget that finding a way out is only part of our current problem. Ayla, Drew, Kyrie and (what's that dwarf's name? He was lost before we joined up.) are still here somewhere. And I intend to find them."

TIMOR
"Oh, I do remember them most definitely, but, if we just checked to see if this was an exit:
#1) if we did, we wouldn't need to return here on a special trip just to check
#2) It would be nice to know that there is *some way* out..
#3) if we did find a way out, perhaps we could leave, fresh and resupply ourselves, and then return down here in a more prepared state.. and finally,
#4)I really would like to know that I will not be wandering around these accursed darkened tunnels for the rest of my life" (not that Timor knows how to say this in 'proper' wording, but he is dancing around the idea that it would be good for group morale)

BILADOC
I say to Legildur:
"Finding a way out while exploring this maze doesn't necessarily mean we have to get out. We can keep looking for our friends after that. I'll take a look up those rungs to see where they lead. Won't take long, I hope."
I move back to the rungs and start climbing, testing them before going up, in case the rust made them to weak to support me. I'll examine the walls as I go up, looking for anything unusual.
OOC:
Wow, guess it's the first time a thief manages to use an enlarge spell (and in reverse mode, too), even if only on a drawing. ;-)
The map is correct now, right Charles? Should I make a small room on top of the blocked stairs? Give me the size of it.
Good luck in your new job, Art!
Happy holidays, Adrian!

DM
Rungs go up to the ceiling and stop. At the very top there seems to be a narrow secret door in the north wall.

BILADOC
I say to the others:
"There's something here."
I'll examine the secret door and try to listen to any noise from the other side. If I ear nothing, I'll try to open it.
OOC:
Is it big enough for everyone to pass through, including Kinson? With the armor, he's probably the largest one of us.

ALOF
When I hear Biladoc mention the secret door I climb up behind him and try and detect noise (if he fails). When he opens the door I'll follow him inside, daggers drawn.

DM
You find a latch to open it. The passage would appear barley large enough for someone of Kinson's stature. It would be a tight fit however. You hear no noise from beyond.

BILADOC
I say to the party:
"There's a small passage here. I'll take a look to see where it leads and then return."
I take out a rope and tie it around my waist and tie the other end to one of the rungs. I say to Alof:
"Stay here. If I find anything dangerous or another of those holes pull me back."
I'll start to move carefully along the passage, trying to see if it leads outside.

ALOF
I listen to Biladoc's request and then reply:
"Be quick or else I'm coming after you."

TIMOR
As the brown eyed priest awaits Biladoc's return, he anxiously begins a small prayer chant to Elanna to guide him on a safe and productive expedition..

KINSON
Kinson listens carefully for any noises as Biladoc enter the opening. He reaches up and takes hold of the rope - just in case.

DM
The tunnel turns out to be 4 foot tall as Biladoc slips further down it. He can walk with not problem. He is soon out of sight rope attached to him. It is ten feet wide but only four foot tall. Still not a problem for your small frame. It goes ten feet north and then opens into a small room twenty feet wide and thirty feet deep. The room extends ten feet east and then thirty feet north to form the box of the room. The room is empty with a few cob webs here and there. There are three openings leading out of the room besides the one you came in from. East wall all the way south. East wall all the way north. And north wall all the way west. (Does that make sense?)

BILADOC
OOC: Yes, Charles, I think it makes sense. BIC: I say to the party below:
"There's a small room here, with three ways out of it. We'll take a quick look and return."
I describe the room to them.
I'll then move carefully to the east wall, the hall on the south and peek inside, signaling Alof to examine the hall on the north of the same side (we'll be checking the halls in the east wall).

DM
Alof follows Biladoc into the tunnel up above.

ALOF
When I see Biladoc go out of sight I say:
"Better safe than sorry" I then climb up and follow him into the hole. I begin examining the hallway.

TIMOR
"By the hand of Elanna, I hope they will be alright." mumbles the brown eyed priest as he notices yet another crawling up the rungs and into the hole..

DM
Looking down the halls the two hobbits see the following. The south most one goes ten feet and turns north. The north most one goes ten feet and a door in the north and ten feet more where it ends with yet another door in the north wall.

TIMOR
At the mention of cob webs, Timor gives a glance towards Mareena, lost in thought over the state in which the almond-eyed elf was found.
Hopefully, a similar spider-creature does not reside here (although, it was just outside the room that brought us here, so it is possible - btw: did we ever kill that thing or see it dead? I think we didn't, though I'm not sure.)
The brown eyed Timor patiently waits - he is very optimistic as to what passages maybe up there. After all, he is still sure that they are underground, hence, up would be the way out... Elanna willing they shall see the light of day soon again.

DM
Mareena smiles as she catches Timor starring at her. She has a mischievous look in her eyes as she continues to stare at the priest wondering...

TIMOR
Timor, catching Reena's smile, can't help but blush - blushing partially over the fact that she noticed him noticing her, and also over the fact that she has a mischievous grin... He was always surprised at how strong a drive of curiosity both of them had, and yet, they both lead such very different lives...
He turns his head back upwards, following the rungs to the ceiling with his brown eyes. His nose twitches a little as he relives himself of a small itch just to the side of a nostril..
"Say.." he begins as he brings his gaze back down to the level of his companions. "Maybe I've been traveling with Legildur too long, but would it not be a bit more productive if some of us just went a little ways in each direction (not out of sight of the others, just far enough to see where the corridors go) - or did we already do that? I can't see much in this accursed darkness...sometimes, if I'm not near Legildur's sword, Max's staff, or one of the torches, I can barely make out my own hand in front of my face..."

BILADOC
I say to the party:
"We found some passages and two doors. The south most hall goes ten feet and turns north. The north most one goes ten feet and a door in the north and ten feet more where it ends with yet another door in the north wall. We'll check the passages out and meanwhile you can start thinking about what you want to do: keep searching down there or up here."
I signal Alof to look at the north bound hall in the north wall while I check the hall in the south corner.

SAGGAR
Mumbling about scouting hobbits, Saggar begins climbing the rungs up to the room above.
"Any way up gets to get us closer to the top, a few less feet to dig through at least"

DM
Saggar begins his climb and looks through the opening into the room the hobbits are in. You know the ceiling is about right for a dwarf or a hobbit you think to yourself.

SAGGAR
Smiles "A proper dwarven hall this is" exits up into the room and looks about the room.

DM
The room itself is bare.
Alof looks at the North hall and sees that it goes ten feet and turn East right away. Meanwhile Biladoc sees Saggar enter the room with a broad smile. Biladoc goes East and looks north up the hallway to see what there is there. It goes ten feet north and ends. Here he also sees a stout, three legged, wooden stool fallen on its side, a gray canvas sack that looks moldy, and a spider web, opaque with thick gray dust, that stretches from floor to ceiling, walling off the end of the corridor. Spread eagle in the web, facing the wall, is a desiccated human corpse clad in tattered strips of leather and the rags of cotton worn underneath. Its limbs are shriveled and shrunken.

ALOF
I am going to walk up and look around the corner using my MS ability.
*note from the scribe: MicroSoft ability?!... ;-)*

DM
You move quietly as a mouse. You see the hallway goes twenty feet East and turns north.

VORIAX
"Egads. Disgusting. Interesting but disgusting."

TIMOR
Timor listens intently as those above describe what they see in the upper level. At first he is hopeful, anxiously awaiting some sign of an exit, but then, at the mention of spider webs, he is reminded all too vividly about the scene in which they found Reena. His brown eyes widen at the mention of the spread-eagle dead guy. "A decaying corpse?" mumbles the priest to himself..."May Elanna find his spirit down here so that he may rest in peace...." he lowers his head to say a quick yet silent prayer. Upon completion of his prayer, he gets ready to say something - but then quickly shakes his head, not wanting to mention what was on his mind. Somber and quiet, the priest dislodges his pack from his shoulders and takes a seat on the cold stone floor - it has been a long day...

SILVAN
Silvan glances down at Timor from looking up at the hobbit-hole, looking embarrassed, and says:
"Excellent idea, friend Timor. While I stand here bemused, it's good to know someone, at least is thinking."
Starting south from the intersection, he looks back and says, softly:
"Legildur, perhaps Kinson or yourself should guard the northern fork here; I will watch the south."
With that, Silvan moves about halfway to the next "T" intersection, stopping and concentrating his senses on the area around him.
OOC:
Silvan will sense for evil, then (assuming none) will listen carefully for sounds of approach . . . or anything else!

DM
You think you hear footsteps of one person coming your way.

KINSON
Kinson nods approvingly and walks a short distance north. He assumes his guard position facing away from the party. Looking off into the darkness...

TIMOR
Seeing Silvan wander off, Timor just remains where he is... not like he can see much in this lightlessness anyway. He looks up to notice Voriax's facial expression - being grimed and shadowed by the flickering of the torch in the mage's hand.
"Yes Voriax, it may be disgusting and interesting... but do not forget, it is also a sign that most likely the exit isn't near the webs. After all, most spiders...well, normal spiders anyway, make their webs in darkened corners rather than right next to an exit/entrance."
Though Timor only speaks from his limited experience with normal sized spiders, and still, he is only saying that 'chances are' the exit/entrance isn't near here...
Timor's brown eyes begin to water slightly. His nerves and hysteria have been building up for several hours - he can not take this place much more. He jumps up from his seat and kicks his pack and tosses his metallic staff that were laying next to him. In a guttural cry, he goes on a long tirade that has obviously been building up inside of him for a while...
"Don't you see how the body being there is both a good and bad thing! The spider is obviously long gone if it left the corpse as is, but the corpse also means that no one has been down here for a very very long time."
He walks up to Voriax and grabs his shirt collar so as to speak directly to his face, "Do you hear what I'm saying?!?! _NO ONE_!" Beads of sweat begin dripping from his forehead, and his breath is perhaps not the best considering the last meal eaten was quite a while ago, not to mention slightly spicy meat...
"That could very well be any or all of us in about a dozen years in the future - lost and forgotten as a rotting corpse in a spiders web of some lost demi-human structure!!"
By now someone, or several people, have managed to pry the priest from shouting at Voriax... Timor stands against the wall, drooling just a little while a hint of madness builds in his eyes.. though, he isn't being forceful anymore, he still seems upset.
"Damn it... We MUST find a way _out_!!!...a way out...a way..."
As he speaks the final words, he drops to his knees and begins sobbing. His hands raise to cover his face, and through the sobbing, all anyone can hear is:
"Elanna...have you forgotten us? oh great Elanna...please help us... please..."
He repeats this for a while. Anyone who may come to try and comfort him gets shrugged away...but after a few minutes, the brown eyed priest seems to regain his composure- just a remaining trickle of snot and tear mixture runs down his cheek. He stands and wipes his face with the corner of his tunic, and doesn't feel like talking to anyone.. he merely goes to try and find his pack and staff (he kicked and tossed them awfully hard/forcefully). And after finding them, he looks through the pack to make sure everything is there.
To anyone who tries to talk with him now, Timor only tries to change the topic...
"I am fine... I sure hope Ayla, Kyrie, and Drew can say the same... Hopefully, Elanna has guided them to a better fate by now..."
Claustrophobia just got to him. - he's fine ;)

SAGGAR
Saggar looks about and brings his axes to ready as he steps towards the hall with the webs

BILADOC
I take out a short sword and poke the bag, trying to see if there's anything in it. I describe the place to the others and ask Mareena:
"You said something about a spider web. Does this sound like it?"
After that, I'll use the sword to tear down the web and examine the walls.

DM
As Biladoc stabs the bag a handful of coins of different kinds fall out and onto the ground. This distracts Biladoc to the point he almost does not see the six inch mottled gray centipede come rushing out of the bodies mouth and heads right for the little hobbit. Mareena climbs to the top of the rungs.
"What do you mean about knowing if this looks like it? They found me trapped in spiderwebs. I want nothing else to do with spiders. "Hey what is that thing?" She points at the centipede.
Meanwhile below the rungs Timor sits down as he mumbles prayers to Elanna.

ALOF
Upon hearing the commotion (Assuming I can) I quickly make my way towards Biladoc and Mareena.

SAGGAR
Saggar yells and throws the throwing axe at the centipede as he prepares to move forward, readying his battle axe.

BILADOC
OOC:
Thanks for the 'almost'...
BIC:
As I spot the centipede, I slash it with the sword and back a little, waiting to see if there's any more of those crawlers around.
I say to Mareena, smiling:
"You mean the cut in pieces centipede? Or the money *I* found?"
I then pick up the coins and inspect the walls and the body, in case there's something in him (rings, scrolls, etc.).

DM
Alof approaches quickly as Saggar draws his Axes. Mareena steps forward drawing her sword and making a lunge for the critter between Biladoc's stubby legs.
Biladoc swings a wide swing but cuts the things head off with his sword. He notices the sword between his legs and gets a little weak in the knees. Mareena chuckles.
"You seem to attract bugs good Biladoc."

BILADOC
I smile back at Mareena:
"Well, I would never call you a bug, Mareena. Although that sword stunt of yours did bug me a little...Still, no harm done."
I turn to Saggar and Alof and say:
"Why don't you check the north passage? I'll join you as soon as I've examined this hall."
After I take the coins (how much?) I'll inspect the body and the walls, after removing the webs.

DM
It is around the corner there and Saggar really has a hard time getting any sort of shot at it. You still want to throw that Axe?

SAGGAR
No, Saggar advances raising the battleaxe and handaxe to ready as he moves quickly towards the sight of the conflict

DM
When he arrives the conflict is over. There are 20 gold coins, searching the dead body reveals nothing. You find in the webs a husk of a giant spider. Nothing else here that you can see.

BILADOC
I'll take the money.

SILVAN
Backing up without taking his eyes off of the end of the hall, he whispers:
"Hist! Footsteps! Prepare!"
Walking a couple of steps forward again, he draws the bow taut, sighting at the dark intersection, waiting to see who (or what!) appears.

KINSON
Kinson moves close to the group, but still remains on the opposite side from Silvan -- guarding to the north. He faces east so that he can see both south and north with just the turn of his head.
He waits with the other party members for the walker to appear.
OOC:
Is the walker using a light source?)

DM
Apparently not.

TIMOR
Timor realizes that it is someone who probably heard him yelling earlier... he of course will have to kick himself hard if he attracted trouble - but something deep inside tells him that it isn't trouble...

LEGILDUR
Legildur quietly draws Vinguard and moves just behind Silvan and awaits for the approaching humanoid.
"Let's try to capture them rather than kill them." whispers Legildur to the Elven prince.

DM
A lone humanoid figure comes into view in the hallway. It is not very tall and seems quite lithe. It steps forward slowly and then rushes forward dropping its sword t the ground. Silvan gets ready to strike and then notes it is Ayla. Tears are streaking down her face as she runs towards her brother.

----------------
And what better way to close this chapter than with the reunion of the two brothers? Lets take a moment to say "Ahhh..." and wipe a tear of joy from our eyes before going on with the story...
