The battlefield ahead is full of dead. Most of them are soldiers of Asga.
But, scattered among them mainly in the branches of trees are a few wood elves.
A large man rides forward upon a powerful mount surveying the carnage. He shakes his head.
If only he had command of the entire army this war would fair much better.
His Night Wings accounted for about half of the elves losses here.
And his men number less than five hundred now.
He wondered how much longer the power hungry King of Asga would be able to sit on his throne.
It makes no difference to me he thought.
As long as I get paid and get out of here before things really get bad it will be ok.
He looked at the young face of a female elven warrior.
"These elves are worthy opponents. They are patient and use their strengths to their advantage.."
He rode onwards deeper into the Forest of Losvain.
(whispered) "The smell ...
Carynth turns immediately. "I'd really prefer to go interrupt a
ceremony, and I believe that's where all the priests - or most - shall be."
Tarin whispers, "Keep on moving, we may look enough like the rest here
to get by or get close enough to stop him from rainsing an alarm."
"We can try to walk by without being challenged, but be ready.
My breatplate clearly displays my holy symbol, and I will not
hide it. When he sees it he is likely to attack."
Kinson makes no sudden movements, but is ready to draw his sword
instantly. He keeps a steady pace toward the bridge.
I am going to slip into the back of the party and if a fight
breaks out I'll try and slip into the shadows during the meele. If a fight
doesn't and we get by I'll go back to my position in front and start searching
for traps.
I will slow my pace, same as Alof, to let the fighters approach the
guard first. If the guard atacks, I'll throw my daggers and send
Shadow to atack him from behind.
OOC:
Do I see anymore guards on the other side of the bridge? Any
lights/sounds/smells/whatever?
You think you make out a figure on the opposite side of the bridge.
Dain continues moving as well, as he approaches, if the warrior
appears to be hostile, he will attempt to knock him into the river
and say bye bye to him.
The "Guard" holds up his right hand. "Name the name." It says in a
hollow voice when you are within twenty feet of him.
Carynth, not knowing the name, keeps silent, looking around guardedly
and half removing her scimitar from its sheath.
Throwing axe gripped tightly in left hand, ready to throw..Dain
speaks in his deepest most evil sounding voice "Diabolicus"
The robed figure with a flourish indicates you pass, "You have
spoken the word. You may Travel the Bridge of Woe. All Hail Diabolicus."
As you begin to cross the bridge you see another guardian much as the
first on the other side. This one holds up its left hand and says, "Name the
Place?"
I am going to stay in the middle of the party and hope that I'm not
noticed until we pass the guard. If a fight breaks out I'll throw 2
of my daggers. If the guard we just passed attacks us I'll throw them at
him, if only the other guard does then I'll attack him.
Unless anyone has any bright ideas, I'm followoing Alof's example,
getting ready to fight the man in front of us. What's underneath the
bridge, by the way?
OOC:
In a friends game, we came apon a bridge in the middle of a forest, no
roads, buildings, just a bridge. We got suspicious, and looked under
it from 50 ft away. Sure enough, out clambored a troll. We declared
our characters would point over it's shoulder, yell "Look! A goat!"
and run. This gave the DM such a laugh he let us get away with it.
BIC:
Anyways, Grumach will consult his limited knowledge of Diabolicus
theology (pretty limited) and see if he can remember a suitable name
for a temple.
Looks like dark water the best you can make out underneath the
bridge. No trolls there you can see. :-)
OOC:
Wish we could sing our way out of this... We are still on the bridge
or have we crossed to the other side? Do I see/hear anything behind
the guard? The guy behind us, is he looking at us? Did he move?
BIC:
I whisper to the party:
'Remember the thief's map? Maybe that's the place... Hell, the place
is here and the time is now and I'm getting bored of this.'
I say to Dain:
'Well, any more good ideas?'
I'll keep two daggers ready to throw.
You are still on the bridge. The other guardian has not moved.
Several members of the band seem to be getting ready to fight while
others seem to be thinking hard.
OOC:
Okay, do I know anything about a place? What was the name of the
tower where we fought them before? Do we have any knopwledge of where
their main temple is at?
Tarin whispers to Ulath, "Where is Diabolicus from?"
Ulath scratches his beard and whispers to Tarin
"Diabolicus, God of Fire, Master of Lies, Bringer of Evil,
As you can see by the titles, a very nice guy.
Oh, and tell Serian that, as we can see by the first Title, roasting
the priests might not be one of the most effective ways to upset
them."
Dain looks up at the guard and hisses again "The Abyss" His hands
stand taught on his axes as he continues forward, placing himself
between the guard and Kinson so that the holy symbol on his
breastplate is not visible by the guard.
The guard raises his staff and fires a Bolt of energy in the parties
direction: "Incorrect."
As I see the guard raising his staff, I'll throw my daggers and yell:
'Shadow, kill!'
(Hope Shadow can disturb the guard enough for the party to cross
without getting roasted...)
If I can tumble past the fighters and get to the other side without
getting in the way of the bolt I'll do so. If not, I'll just get out
of the way of the bolt (even if it means jumping out of the bridge
and hanging on to it). At the first chance I get, I'll take out two
more daggers to throw at the guard.
'Some priests we have! Lets shred this #%#*$% bastard!'
Dain is not a priest though. No one seems to have the religion skill.
Ya want to bet someone gets it first chance they get.:-)
Dain throws two throwing axes at him
Kinson charges the guard while drawing his sword.
"The place is Hell, and you shall be going there very shortly!"
He attacks the guard with the intent to kill.
"Watch our back, the other guard may attack."
Uh, I sure hope that "Bless" spell is still active! I look back to
see what the guard behind us is doing. I am most prepared to fight
the closest guard, and will do so when it is our moves.
Tarin will roll out of the way of the bolt of energy, and nock an
arrow to fire back at the guard behind us if he is going to attack us from
behind. Then I will draw my swords and attack him at a closer range.
The bolt of energy widens as it moves forward. Sorta like a cone.
Just to let you all know.
Good thing to know. Carynth crouches low and attempts to perform her
earlier moves
I will then roll past the other figure, as I am probably pretty
close, so he is hit as well.
Serian attempts to avoid the energy bolt and then steadies himself in
the midst of the chaos to cast a spell.
Near the end of the party, perhaps I will have more time to react... If
possible, I will leap at the side of the bridge, grabbing the side of
it and swinging underneath it. (Dex role?) Hope their aren't any
Real Nasty Things in the water...
I am going to do the same as Biladoc and Grumatch. I'll hopefully
grab onto the side or bottom of the bridge trying to avoid the bolt.
I won't try and throw my daggers until after I have a grip on the
bridge and I'm hanging off of it. I'll go on the same side as Biladoc.
I should be near the front, so Dain will instead dive forward under
the blast and come up with his axe swinging, using the throwing axe in left
hand to try and catch the staff and neutralize it as he attacks with battle
axe..meanwhile saying "..(the abyss) ...not nearly as wonderful as HELL."
You know this change of action will cuse Dain to delay a little before
responding. To show him making up his mind between the first action
and the second.
I will dodge the bolt, and swing my axe while running toward
the guard.
Ulath will grab Flint and will try to avoid the blast, sidestepping or
dodging, but only in the last will he grab the side of the bridge and
hang there! OOC:Are the rails of the bridge, possible to walk on?
Biladoc yells, 'Shadow, kill!' his Hawk takes off and dives for the
robed figure. Biladoc throws two daggers as he dives over the side of
the bridge and attempst to grab its edge. His daggers go wide as he
throws them as he jumps. They strike into the darkness of the vast
hall. Biladoc grabs the edge of the bridge but looses his grip(Real
bad roll) and tumbles into the ciy waters. The currents are strong and
the and the water deep. He is being dragged downstream (Do you have
swimming?????) Tarin moves next. Seeing that the guard behind him is
not attacking Tarin does not fire at him but tumbles past him so that
the beam may strike him as well. As he does the Guard says, "Speak the
Name?" Humphrey leaps over the side and manages to grab the side of
the bridge with a grunt. He holds on and is dangling. He seems to be
gaining momentum to swing back on the bridge. Kinson charges the guard
in front as he yells, "The place is Hell, and you shall be going there
very shortly!" Kinson: "Watch our back, the other guard may attack.
Carythne ducks low and attempts to get at the guardian in front with
her Scimitar. However, Kinson and Dain are in front of her leading
the attack. She is unable to reach him. Grumach leaps over the side
and grabs the edge of the bridge his feet dangle in the icy water
below him. he feels seomthing scaly bump his foot. Fraxen attemps to
doge the cone of green light by moving to the edge of the bridge as he
moves forward with axe in hand. He is unable to get close enough to
the guard. Dain, Kinson, and Carythne are in front of him. Alof leaps
over the side and nmbly catches the edge of the bridge with one hand.
In the other hand a dagger appears. He throws it. It strikes the
guardian but bounces off him as if it struck solid steel. Serian
attempts to dodge the cone of green light as he prepares to cast a
spell. Dain hesitates at first. The Green Cone engults him before he
can take further actions. Ulath Leaps over the side and amanges to
hold on to the bridge. He moans as Flint his dog leaps over as well.
Ulath someohe manages to grab Flint's collar with his left hand. You
can hear Ulath groaning as his face turns red from the strain. The
Green cone/beam hits Kinson, Dain, Tarin, and Serian. All are chilled
by this beam of magical cold. (Kinson -10HP, Dain -10HP, Serian -5HP,
Tarin -4HP) Dain rolls forward after the beam of cold engulfs him
frosting his beard. His axe comes up and strikes the guardian. There
are sparks as the axe hits. Bone chips fall to the sides as the
guardians hood falls back to reaveal a skull of some sort of horned
and large fanged creature. Flames flicker where its eyes once saw. The
thing does not seem amused at Dain. At this Point Kinson engages him
with a flurry of sword strokes. Kinsons swings make the Guardian step
back but they do not connect.
Actions please: (I have an Action for Humphrey going back onto the
bridge and Serian is casting a spell. Either one can change their mind
without penalty at this point.
OOC:
Real bad roll?! What an understatement!! I've got Dex18!! Not fair...
And, to make things worst, no, I don't have swimming...
BIC:
As I fall from the bridge (I could have tried to hold on to Alof,
since he went to the same side as I did. Too late now, I'm already in
the water...) I'll take out a dagger and try to hold on to the side
of the stream (either with the dagger or with my hands and feet).
I yell to the bridge:
'Rope, quick!'
(I don't suppose a hawk could lift 67 pounds of
strugling-wet-scared-like-hell-about-to-drown halfling...)
No, but I might. Is he within range of my Manriki Gusari? If so,
then forget all the opther plans I made, and I'll just send him a
chain. If he's not in range, I'll carry on with the actions I already
described.
Carynth, spying Ulath's situation, attempts to haul him back up to
the top of the bridge, since there are so many bodies between her and
the main action, anyway. And if she can't grab Ulath, she'll try for the pup.
Dain braces his back on the ground and kicks with both boots,
planeting them in its chest and kicking with all his might to knock the
thing in the water.
Tarin speaks, "Diabolicus." Then I will move forward, to the edge of
the bridge, where I will pull my rope to throw to Biladoc.
If Biladoc's in trouble from that scaley thing I'm going to jump in
and help him out by attacking it with 2 daggers if Grumatch can't pull him
out. If he get's pulled out I'll try and Move silently pulling myself
across the bridge if it's possible hoping to sneak behind the
guardian to push him in the water.
Ulath, will move his other hand, throwing Flint back into the bridge,
and now that its free, use that hand to grab the rail, and pull himself up.
At the same time will use the breath out of the effort to say:
"Knock the staff, Knock the staff".
Biladoc flounders in the water as he yells, 'Rope, quick!' Grumach
holding on with one hand throws his Manriki Gusari to Bilaodoc. His
excellent aim wraps the chain around Bilaodcs neck. Biladoc grabs onto
the chain to avoid from being strangled. Biladoc feels something large
bump him underwater. Dain braces his back on the ground and kicks with
both boots, planeting them in its chest and kicking with all his might
to knock the thing in the water. However, the Devil skeleton brushes
Dain legs aside with the midpart of its staff throwIng Dain off
Balance and causing him to end up sprawled on the ground, his battle
axe still held tightly in his hands. Tarin speaks, "Diabolicus." and
then moves to the dge of the stream. He throws a rope to Biladoc but
it lands short. Something however jerks on the rope hard almost
pulling Tarin into the stream(he's got a big'un.) Humphrey swings from
the bridge to the shore of the stream. As he lands he almost looses
his balance and falls in. Ulath with great strain attempts to haull the
yelping Flint back onto the bridge but is unable to do so. His grip on
the bridge starts to slip a little. He says, "Knock the staff, Knock
the staff." Carythne makes it to the bank and swings her engraved
scimitar. The Devilkin simply moves out of her way. Kinson swings his
great sword at the creature again missing with both his slashes.
Serian chants and tosses something in the direction of the beast.
However it seems to have no effect on it. Alof pulls himself back on
the bridge and sneaks towards the skeletal beast only to see its fiery
eyes lock on him.(He feels dizzy as he catches himsefl starring at the
thing. ) The Skeleton swings the butt of his staff attempting to hit
Dain but only managed to knock the stout dwarf off balance. The
bladed in arcs toward Kinson but he manages to knock it aside with his
sword.
ACTIONS for Round 3 please.
Grumach will hold the chain tight (wrapping it around his wrist a few
times - just to make sure in case Biladoc get' eaten, Grumach will be close
behind...). Grumach will pull his chain arm up to the bridge (if
possible. I don't imagine Biladoc is particularly light?) so that he's holing
on with two hands, and then try to lift up onto the bridge.
I'll hold the dagger in my mouth and pull on the chain with both
hands, climbing up as fast as I can, pulling up my legs from the
water. If anything comes after me, I'll kick it as hard as I can.
OOC:
I'd thank Grumach, but I'm choked with gratitude... not to mention a
Manriki Gusari.
Hearing Ulath's words, Carynth does indeed attempt to strike at the
Devikin's staff. If someone else strikes it first, she will attack
the creature instead.
Ulath will again try to do the same thing he was doing, but will say
also: "Help me Serian!"
Tarin will tie a lasso in the rope and attempt to throw the other end
onto the creature at the other end of the bridge as I run closer (to
get a better shot).
I keep crawling up the chain as fast as I can. When I reach the
bridge, I'll haul myself up and run to the guard we just passed.
(We hasn't moved to attack us, has he? He just asked Tarin to name
the name, right?).
Grumach wraps the chain around his arm and slowly gets both hands back
on the brige. He manages to slide partially onto the bridge. Carynth
moves forward and swings her Scimitar in a deadly arc. She connects
with the creatures staff and takes a chunk out of it. Alof turns away
from the skeletal warrior and helps haul Grumach the rest of the way
onto the Bridge. Now they turn to begin hauling Biladoc in like a
fishing lure across the surface of the water.
Serian draws his sword and charges towards the creature. However,
because of the tangle of warriors around it he can not make it to it
this round. Humphrey manages to circle behind the demon and rams his
shoulder into its back. However, the Demon does not move and Humphrey
fells like he just slammed into a rock wall. With a great effor and
much Pain Ulath manages to Haul Flint onto the bridge. He says, "Help
me Serian!" as he struggles to hold on himself. You can see form his
face that he is exhausted. Tarin creates a lasso on the other end of
the rope as whatever it is jerks and again almost hauls Tarin into the
icy waters. Biladoc hauls himself up the chain and makes it most of
the way. Dangling out of the water like life bait. He is just under
the bridge at this point. Dain manages to get to his feet as the
Skeletal creature swings and misses him with the bladed end of its now
chipped staff. Kinson parrys the blow from the non bladed end of the
staff.
ACTIONS?
Grumach will keep on hauling. Now that he is on the bridge, he will
brace himself on whatever is handy. Let's hope I don't throttle him...
Tarin will attempt to lasso the offending devilkin.
Ulath will now use both hands, to hold on the bridge and this round
will wait for help, and "kind of recover the breath".
I sent a message that Dain was kicking again????????????????? How
about I swing my axe twice at the staff this next round. Guess the kick is
out?????
Grumahc pulls as hard as he can to haul Biladoc out of the water.
Fraxen charges and slams an axe into the offending guardthing. His
axe bouces off the creatures robes and bones. Ulath hauls with Grumahc
and finally they haul Biladoc out of the water. Over head a black hawk
circles the group. Flint barks and yelps on the bridge. Kinson
suddenly realizes how injured he is and drops to the ground barely
breathing (-4 at this time and going quick). Dain swings his Axe at
the Devilkin's staff. The first blow connects adn the second one
misses. However, the first one is all it takes as the staff explodes
in a blast of cold energy. Humphrey attempts to slam the Devilkin into
the water but misses him. Serian rushes forward swinging his sword
missing the thing twice. Carynth also has closed with her scimitar in
hand and attacks the creature again. Her swing goes wide as the thing
moves with unatural speed. Tarin in the meantime has created a lasso
and throws it towards the devilkin on the other side. He misses
almost lassoing Dain in the process. The wave of cold explodes with
great fury as Dain chops through the staff.
The Cold Freezes the Devilin but it is moving, you can tell that hurt
it. Dain, Serian, Humphrey, Fraxen, Carynth all take damage from the
cold blast. (Just so you know 1d20 for each with a save to halve. )
Dain -1, Serian -9, Humphrey -20, Fraxen -4, Carynthe -2,
OOC:
A note to Kinson I gave you 2500 EXP before entering the temple.
Did this not take you to second level. From the damage I just dealt
out its my guess that some memebers are down and possibly dead. This
is a tough world and I hope you do not perish as I know the
frustration involved when a character dies. Let me know the status of
your characters.
OOC:
Charles, do us a favour: BUY NEW DICE!!! I got a 20, Humphrey gets
another, Tarin almost strangles Dain... Why doesn't the devilkin get
a 20?! ;-)
BIC:
I say to Shadow:
'Shadow, kill! Worthless #$#*$ chicken!!'
If I can tumble to the staffless devilkin (the bridge must be
crowded...), I'll take out my short swords and strike as soon as I
can. If to many people are in the way, I'll keeping throwing two
daggers at the same time until I can get near him (or until I run out
of daggers - still got 8).
OOC:
With my luck, I'll probably stab Dain in the back...
Humphrey and Kinson are down. They took the most room so there should
be plenty of room for you to tumble towards them. As long as you don't
roll a 20 and get tangled in the fallen comrades.
Guys it looks like I'm screwed it looks like you need a magic weapon
to hurt this guy. Charles is it possible to see the other guards
staff? Cause if it is I might sneak up behind it (move silently) and
try and grab the staff from it and then fire at the guardian who said
name the place. OOC: It's worth a shot guys it might bring the other
guy in but hey we'll have a staff.
Dain will swing his axe at the devilkin that is running around "Stop
cur that we may end your misery"
OOC:
Maybe cold brittle bones will explode when hit too(GRIN).
"Great thought about the staff, anymore wonderful battle taticss to
waste our ranks?"
OOC:
Sorry people. I thought that the staff was blasting us, and
should be "droped".
BIC:
Ulath will rush Kinson and stop the bleeding. He will then move
him a few feet back while looking to see what is left of everybody.
Isn't someone dangling from the bridge?
If they're still there, Grumach will help them. If not, he will
untangle his Manriki Gusari, and move towards the devilkin battle. He
will not attack. He will heal the wounded.
There is no one left dangling from the bridge.
Ulath will tend the wounds of Humphrey, put a blanket over him and
order Flint to lie close to him, to keep him warm, hopefully. Since Ulath
has healing, please remember to roll the D3 for Kinson and Humphrey!
Dain swings his axe at the Devilkin saying, "Stop cur that we may end
your misery" His axe makes solid contact and goes in at the collar
bone coming out somewhere around the hip. The thing explods in a
shower of bones. Biladoc yells to Shadow,'Shadow, kill! Worthless
#$#*$ chicken!!' Shadow dives getting ahold of one bone that is flying
through the air. Biladoc tumbLes and reaches the location near Dain but
the Devilkin is only shattered bones when he gets there. Ulath rushes
to Kinson's side and banages him stopping the bleeding (there is none,
damaged was caused by cold) he warms him up and makes sure that he
will be fine for now. However, he knows Kinson will need lots of
rest.(Kinson just gained 3hp but can not rise past 1hp at this time).
Carynth seeing that Ulath has bandaged Kinson rushes to Humphrey's
side. She cast a cure spell on him bringing Humphrey to 1HP. Humphrey
however is very very weak and will not be able to do much at all.
Flint lays down near Humphrey via Ulath's command. Alof is eyeing the
visable staff of the other guardian. The rope is jerked out of Tarin
hands and goes quickly under the water. Grumach casts Cure Light
Wounds on Kinson bringing him up to 1 HP. He is also very weak at the
time and can not do much. Serian sits and rests seeing that the
battle has ended. Fraxen looks around ready to fight anything else
that might comes. He stares down the long hallway leading deeper into
darkness..........Fraxen thinks he hears voices.
ACTIONS:
"Make them comfortable and one of us stay to guard the fallen. The
rest of us should advance and see what we can find in the temple"
speaks Dain as he goes to the passagway towards the inner temple
I call Shadow back, take out my winter blanket and hand it to Carynth
saying: 'Use this to keep Kinson warm.' I ask Fraxen: 'Can you make
out any words? Does it sound like chanting? Where does the sound come
from?' I'll go recover my two daggers and join Dain in the passage,
moving as silently as possible.
No actions yet, just questions:
The river, is it fully underwater, or does it go down a tunnel with
air over it? Is there a bank we could walk on in said tunnel?
I have good hearing, can I tell how many voices? Are they
approaching?
The river is not fully underwater. There is no bank. It seems deep and
swift. The voices are from more than three people and yes tehy are
appraoching from the temple side. At this point Serian turns to face
Dain and just collapses to the ground.
"Mooooan. What happen? Why am I so cold? Now, I remember."
Humphrey looks over to where the bone devil was. "Good, it is
destroyed."
With the approach of the three voices, Dain backs out and takes a
position flanking the entrance of the passage to the room with the
guardians while motioning the others to do the same and to be silent.
He awaits, battle axe ready, to attack anyone coming out.
Grumach will go along with this.
I take the side oposite to Dain and prepare my shortswords to a
possible backstab, hiding in the shadows. I'll let Dain attack first,
so as to draw attention to him and then will backstab anyone coming
into range.
And after I do my best with the healing spells, Carynth will draw her
scimitar, staying by the wounded, ready to defend.
Tarin will move to the other side of the passageway from Dain, swords
coming out of the sheath. As I pass the group I will whisper, "Get
the wounded out of the way and hidden."
Errrr.... okay. Carynth does that, THEN draws her scimitar =-)
Ulath looks around to see if there is any dark corner to put the 2
fallen companions, allowing them to stay hidden.
I say to the group in a whisper " Is Serian hurt bad or does his
collapsing have something to do with magic?"
I am going to go behind Dain after collecting my daggers and I will
hide in the shadows ready to backstab one of them with my longsword.
Is this our order at the moment ?
Tarin Dain Biladoc
Alof
Fraxen Carynth Grumach
Humphrey Ulath Kinson
Ulath goes over Serian and tries to see what is wrong with him.
If the voices are still some distance away, I'll go get the guardian
robe and say to Grumach:
'Put this on and ask them to Name the Place. They will hopefully
think you are the guardian and that everything is ok.'
OOC:
If I don't have time to do this, I'll stick to my old plan: keep
silent and backstab someone first chance I get.
I'll go ahead and put the robe on, and stand sentry over the bridge.
Carynth will attempt to hide in a good posotion to attack, too.
(posotion= position, don't you know....)
I will try to mimirc the actions of the guardian at our approach. I'm
SURE I was paying VERY good attention to it...
"Make them comfortable and one of us stay to guard the fallen. The
rest of us should advance and see what we can find in the temple"
speaks Dain as he goes to the passageway towards the inner temple Ulath
looks around but sees that the entire passageway is dark and no place
is beter than another to place the wounded. Biladoc calls the Hawk
Shadow back with a low whistle. The bird lands on the halfing's
shoulder and praces. Biladoc says to Carynth,'Use this to keep Kinson
warm.' Then Biladoc says to Fraxen, 'Can you make out any words? Does
it sound like chanting? Where does the sound come from?' Biladoc grabs
his two daggers and moves next to Dain to face whatever is coming.
Biladoc is as silent as a cat. As Dain hears the voice he motions for
the other to move to the sides. He moves against one wall of the
passageway and has his battle axe at the ready. Dain is visible from
the dim glow his axe is giving off. Biladoc moves to the opposite side
of the hallway. He draws his short swords and seems to blend into the
shadows along the wall. Tarin whispers to the band , "Get the wounded
out of the way and hidden." As he takes a position near Biladoc with
his long swords ready. Carynth drags the three wounded (Did anyone
bandage Serian?) with the help of Grumach and Ulath out of the way.
Then Carynth draws her scimitar. She crouches near her three fallen
friends. Humphrey: "mooooan. What happen? Why am I so cold? Now, I
remember." Humphrey looks over to where the bone devil was. "Good, it
is destroyed." Alof says in a whisper, " Is Serian hurt bad or does his
collapsing have something to do with magic?" he collects his daggers
and takes a position with Dain. Ulath examines Serian and sees that he
is almost frozen solid, much as Humphrey and Kinson. Biladoc fetches
the robe quickly and hands it to Grumach, "Put this on and ask them to
Name the Place. They will hopefully think you are the guardian and
that everything is ok.' Grumach puts the robe on and moves over to
take his post near the bridge. Carynthe moves over to a position near
Tarin and Biladoc.
You can see what looks like a hooded lantern down the hall. You can
dimly see 5 figures wearing black robes. They slowly starting coming
into view......
