music

I love music. It's really neat. So here is a little piece of blueness devoted to it.

Quick Reference:
my Four Favoritest Songs in the Whole Wide World are (in no particular order):

1. Tonight, Tonight (smashing pumpkins)
2. Fields of Gold (sting)
3. Halcyon + on + on (orbital)
4. Born to Run (bruce springsteen)

as you can tell, my music interests are extremely wide and varied...

Here, for no particular reason, are all the concerts I've been to. They're in chronological order. I do like all of these bands. I left out some of the crappy opening acts, though.

Matchbox 20

Jimmie's Chicken Shack
Blink-182

I like a lot of celtic music. My favorite artists are listed below:

Maggie Sansone
master hammered dulcimer-ist. Catch her at the Maryland Renaissance Festival.

Loreena Mckennitt
Absolutely beautiful stuff. When I first heard the Mummer's Dance on the radio, my jaw dropped - partly in wonder that the radio was playing celtic-ish music, partly just cause it is so good.

Memoire de Sonneurs
I saw these guys in France. They are incredible, even if they do sing in french. do you know what a hurdy-gurdy is?

The Chieftains
They're old, because they're good. They do a stunning soundtrack for the Treasure Island starring Christian Bale, which I highly recommend.

Hmm . . . what else? ah, of course. oldies.
Just listing my favorites, some aren't oldies, they're just old songs. 80's ish.

Don McLean, American Pie

Van Morrison, Brown-Eyed Girl

Simon & Garfunkel, Scarborough Faire and The Sound of Silence

Sting, Fields of Gold

Spin Doctors, Two Princes

The Proclaimers, I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)

Pet Shop Boys, Go West
