| Just past the town of Brookwood, heading northeast on AL 216, there are a couple of pull-offs on the shoulder. During the winter it is easier to see the strip pits, off to your right as you pass mile markers 12 and 13 headed away from Tuscaloosa. Blackberry brambles may impede your access to the best vantage points so don boots and jeans (as opposed to formal wear). |
