April 99 - RVFD is a private, non-profit volunteer department contracted to provide fire service for the township for a specific dollar amount designated by law. We provide all of the services listed below for the same amount of money. Most municipal and state codes list this as a "not more than...." figure. If the corporation was contracted to provide "fire service" (a broad term) all would be included, unless specifically excluded in the contract. In Ohio, however EMS does not fall under "fire protection". It depends on the laws pertaining to the state and local government where you are or if the code does not make provisions for other such services in another section. BUT>>> most specifically, the language in the contract. It takes a lawyer to interpret all these terms, sections, sub-sections and articles. Here the county prosecutor is used. I'm sure your city, municipality or county has someone designated for this kind of service.
